Ementa:

A disciplina, oferecida em língua inglesa, tem como objetivo discorrer sobre a evolução da ciência até a atualidade, destacando a influência na constituição das entidades acadêmicas universitárias, a disseminação do conhecimento científico atual e a escrita acadêmica. Exemplificando a evolução da ciência na área cirúrgica, serão abordadas pesquisas sobre entidades nosológicas e procedimentos cirúrgicos contemporâneos. Os alunos serão encorajados a discutir em inglês seus projetos de pesquisa em andamento durante o curso.

The purpose of this course, offered in English, is to discuss the evolution of science to the present day, highlighting the influence on the constitution of university academic entities, the dissemination of current scientific knowledge and academic writing. To exemplify the evolution of science in the surgical area, research on contemporary diseases and surgical procedures will be discussed. Students are encouraged to present their own ongoing research in English during the class.
